OnlyExecs Apply

The open arm of OnlyExecs

OnlySocials

The membership is closed. The bar isn’t. OnlySocials is where anyone who wants to meet the people running things in Frederick can simply buy a ticket and turn up.

You don’t need a seat at the table to come

You don’t have to own a business. You don’t have to be an executive. You don’t have to know anyone in the room.

OnlyExecs spends most of the year behind a closed door, and that’s deliberate — it’s what makes the conversation worth having. But a closed room with no way in eventually stops being a community and starts being a clique. OnlySocials is the way in.

Members come too. That’s the point: an evening where someone starting out can end up in conversation with someone twenty years ahead of them, without either of them having planned it.

Who turns up

  • ●OnlyExecs members and the people they bring
  • ●Owners, operators and anyone building something
  • ●People who’ve just moved to the area and want a network
  • ●Teams, partners and friends — bring whoever you like

What we put on

Every other month, somewhere worth going, around Frederick.

Happy hours
The regular one. A couple of hours after work, somewhere with enough room to actually move around. We’ve hosted at True Standard Distilling and XGolf Frederick, and we keep moving them so you see a different part of town each time.
Ticketed socials
A step up from a happy hour — a tasting, a venue buyout, a night built around something rather than just a bar tab. Tickets are limited and these tend to go first.
The annual kickoff
The biggest night of the year and the one event where the whole community is in the same room, held each January. Open to everyone, members and not. Tickets and details.
Charity nights
Quarterly, benefiting a local organisation the OnlyExecs membership voted for. Real events people want to attend, with the group carrying the production so the cause keeps the proceeds.

How we do things

Four rules. They’re short because they matter.

Ask before you add anyone

Nobody goes onto your mailing list, newsletter or CRM because you met them at a social. Ask first, every time. This is the one we enforce hardest, and it’s the reason people hand out their card.

What’s said here stays here

People talk candidly about their businesses at these things. Don’t repeat someone’s numbers, their problems or their plans outside the room.

Come to meet people, not to sell to them

No pitching from the front, no working the room with a stack of cards. If someone wants what you do, they’ll ask — and they will, because that’s what these evenings are for.

Bring someone

The best nights are the ones where half the room is new. Bring your team, your partner, a client, the person you keep meaning to introduce to someone.

Get on the list

Socials are announced by email first and they do sell out. Put your name down and you’ll hear about each one before it goes public.

No cost to join the list, and we’ll never pass your details to anyone else — the same rule we ask of everyone who comes.
